Asian Blepharoplasty (Double Eyelid Surgery)

ทำตา 2 ชั้น

Double eyelid surgery is designed to place a pre-tarsal crease in Asian eyes that are absent a fold. It has been estimated that 50% of the Asian population don’t naturally have the double eyelid fold. At Lelux Hospital, we only offer Japanese style Asian blepharoplasty which will give a sharp fold but sweet at the same time, whereas, the Korean style can sometimes look unnatural due to the excessively large fold if the surgeon is not skillful yet.

There are 2 kinds of Asian Blepharoplasty including:

Incision Method

Incision method is suitable for patient age from 35 years old, patient who had immoderately large eyelid or drooping eyelid. The procedure will be performed under local anesthesia. With this incisional technique, the surgeon will either use scalpels or cutting lasers to open the head and the end of the eye. The crease will be formed by incising the eyelid along the position of the new crease and that is measured very precisely. Therefore, the tissues underneath are attached to that incision line. Once the process is finish the surgeon will stitch the wound back together. When the stitch is ultimately removed the scar that forms between the underlying muscle will lifts the eyelid and the overlying skin. The advantage of this technique the crease will appear clearly, long-lasting and natural looking result but the drawback is that the swelling will be longer than the suture technique.

Suture Method

Suture method is suitable for patient age lower than 35 with thin, less fat on their eyelid and whose eyes are not drooping. First, the surgery will be performed under local anesthesia. Once the patient becomes numb, the surgeon will start to drill 3 small holes using laser cutter and stitch by locking the inner eye tissue using a special stitch which is very small equivalent to human hair. Using laser cutter will obtain a sharp fold, less bleeding, the wound will heal faster than the incision method and less swelling. In some cases, when the patient has some excessive fat on their eyelid, our surgeon has his own technique to remove these fat without creating any cut. This fat removal our unique technique which only offers at Lelux Hospital.
